Studio Gear & Software
Walking into a club booth or event stage can be intimidating if you have only ever touched miniature plastic knobs on a small computer controller. In our Tarrawanna studio, you will practice on the identical hardware found on major festival stages and nightclub booths worldwide.

Master beats, bars, 8-bar and 16-bar phrases. Learn why dropping tracks at the right moment makes blending seamless without relying on visual waveforms.
PREPARATIONOrganise playlists, set hot cues, calibrate beatgrids, and export clean USB drives that plug seamlessly into any modern Pioneer CDJ setup.
Develop critical listening skills. Learn how to pitch-bend, use the tempo slider, and synchronise two differing tempos completely by ear.
EQ & FILTERSIsolate basslines, sculpt mid frequencies, and use high-pass/low-pass filters to avoid muddy clutter during transitions.

Our studio is located in Tarrawanna, NSW (2518), situated at the base of the escarpment in northern Wollongong. It is roughly 7 minutes from Wollongong CBD, 10 minutes from Thirroul, and 25 minutes from Shellharbour via the motorway. Exact address details are provided upon booking.
No prior equipment is needed! You can start right away using our full professional club-standard setup (Pioneer CDJ-3000s and DJM-A9) and extensive curated music collection. If you already own equipment or your own laptop with Rekordbox or Serato, you are welcome to bring it in so we can configure your specific setup.
We teach all skill levels — from complete novices who have never touched a mixer to experienced DJs preparing for high-profile gigs. We welcome kids (ages 9+), teenagers, university students, and adults. Parents are always welcome to stay and watch the session.
Yes. While most students find it best to learn in our acoustically treated Tarrawanna studio on our club gear, mobile lessons in your own home across Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Berry, and the Southern Highlands are available for an added travel fee.
